David Lubin Elementary School recently welcomed a new music instructor, Julie Meyers, who will help implement a pilot music program. As part of Lubin’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) curriculum, the music program will help bridge the sciences and arts. Learning the elements of music such as tempo, dynamics, and rhythm through song, the kids at David Lubin look forward to having Julie come to class.
She began teaching voice lessons in 2003, and a new passion for teaching was ignited. Alongside voice lessons, Julie also teaches acoustic and electric guitar, piano and electric bass. She teaches students of all ages and levels, and tries to help her students not only achieve their personal best on their instrument, but also to have fun.
The music program is funded through the Parent Teacher Group (PTG) and supported by the principal, staff and teachers.
